I hope all is well - just wanted to give you a short update of where do I stand with the 100 Project. For the first phase, other than cutting and trimming the card stock that I will be using for the cards, I was thinking of 'what am I going to do for the inside?' I did read in the Cards for Hospitalized Kids page some guidelines and they also wrote some ideal phrases. Based on those phrases, I picked out some key words and decided to make a foam stamp with these key words. How did I do this you may ask - well, I used Photoshop I wanted to give the words some shape. I selected a cute font called DollieScript and later printed them out.
As you can see, I used some foam sheets that I got from the local craft store with the help of a coupon (By the way, I LOVE coupons! Don't we all? ). I cut out the words from the print-outs and later used some non-permanent glue to stick the words in to the foam. After they've dried, with all patience in the world, I cut out the outline of the words with an exact-o knife.
I later glued the cut-out foam words to another foam sheet in order to create the backing and support for the stamp.
I let them dry overnight - this is key! You have to let them dry otherwise when you use your foam stamp, your actual design (or in this case the word), would actually move or separate from the foam backing when you are using it.
This is the final result!
I use paint when I use my foam stamps, I feel that the foam would 'suck-up' all the ink from your ink pad. Plus, for this project a nice thin layer of paint for the stamp will ideal to help bring out the key words for this project.
So what are the key words you ask? Well, tune in next week for the key words. Starting Monday, I will be posting 1 (one) key word per day. There are five key words.
You have any comments or questions, feel free to write a comment bellow! I would love to hear from you!
